Concept

A new form of masu

Inspiration

We wanted to design a masu for celebration by combining the Sanadamaru family crest, "Rokubun Sen," with the traditional masu used in celebrations.

Design 

We designed a wooden novelty for Gunma (Numata) for the historical drama Sanadamaru. The design of the squares was inspired by the Sanada family crest, "Rokubun Sen," as well as a celebratory theme. The design is simple, using a lathe to shape the square blocks.

Research

We investigated elements of the Sanadamaru motif and explored the possibility of creating goods based on the family crest. With the goal of pleasing both the audience and those involved in the drama, we designed a masu to celebrate the event.
