Unique piggy bank

Inspiration

A childhood memory of poking a hole in a shoji.

Design 

A piggy bank that tickles your mischievous spirit, just like poking holes in shoji screens with your fingers. This piggy bank can be reused by simply re-covering it, much like a shoji screen. It’s a piggy bank that you won't be able to save from if you get addicted to it.

Research

Focusing on the process of making shoji screens, we designed a mechanism for laminating paper using shoji glue, which allows the paper to be restapled multiple times. To find a paper that tears easily and comfortably, we experimented with various types of paper and finalized the design.
